tired, tiredTired, tired, tired. Afer I came back from my trip I haven't had any free days. Is it already workaholism? When I have free time, it seems to be boring time, hehe.
On Friday I had to summarize the trip for my boss, as everything should be in order, then I was teaching my private students - Steven, Snow and Maggie.
Saturday is always the busiest day of the week, teaching from morning until evening... Every Sunday I'm teaching my regular students: Anita and Chen Chen - I can't help that they don't want other teachers! I also like teaching them, sometimes we just talk freely. And Sunday... teaching as well. Only in the evening I me Jack, Harry and Jimmy and we were just sitting in Wulin Square, admiring the fountain. Great idea for relax, I tell you. I even lied on a small wall and fell asleep! Too tired!
We had Mother's Day in Poland on Saturday, it is fixed date - May 26th every year. Of course I talked to my Mum. I told her I loved her very much. She said she loved me, too.
It's getting really hot these days. Probably Hangzhou is one of the hottest cities in China during summertime. For me.. a bit too hot. Anyway, I prefer hot to cold, summer to winter, sunshine to rain.
I need to take more rest. May 25 around ChinaThat was really something. My boss asked me to arrange the whole trip for him and his daughter as it supposed to be their first time in China. 10 days... MONDAY, May 14th I went to Shanghai to pick them up from Pu Dong Airport in the morning, wow, now it seems to be so long time ago! They have flown for the whole night so they were very tired. TUESDAY, May 15th We went to KFC to eat something and drink coffee, and then we waited for the bus to Hangzhou. I wanted them to see the city where I live. It's the most beautiful city in China, you know that, right? I helped them to check-in in the hotel and let them take some rest. We met in the afternoon (it was Tuesday) and took a taxi to Hefang Street (何妨街) - the place where they could buy some Chinese souvenirs. It was a good choice because it's quite near to West Lake (西湖) which is the most gorgeous spot here. Anyway, my boss felt tired after some time and he requested to have dinner. We went to a Japanese restaurant - and surprise! - they had no forks and knives! That must have been a challenge for both of them to eat with chopsticks. They even took them as a proof that they had used them! Hangzhou is just delightful city. So many flowers in the streets, so clean, so nice people. I guess I have no distance to Hangzhou! Welcome everybody! WEDNESDAY, May 16th Next day we went to Huzhou (湖州), where we visited the factory producing chains. I met Allen - a boy I cooperate with, I ordered some chains from him. He said that I'm very humorous and easygoing. Hehe, maybe! We came back to Hangzhou in the afternoon. My boss went to sleep and me and his daughter went to the city centre to do some shopping. I suggested Intime Department Store (银泰百货), and Magda liked it very much. She loves shopping. Well, she is a girl, that's obvious. Later we saw the musical fountain in Wulin Square (武林广场) - cool! And that was the end of Wednesday. THURSDAY, May 17th On Thursday we took a train to Ningbo (宁波), a city located at the sea side, east from Hangzhou. We had a meeting there with one of our suppliers. He invited us for lunch... and according to Magda's opinion it was the worst experience in her life. Just because of food. Shrimps, oysters, fish and other sea food - for me they are OK, but she just said "disgusting!" and refused to eat at all! My god, what could I do! Luckily my boss likes to experience new things and he was eating and said it was delicious. We talked about business, of course, but it's a kind of boring stuff. In the evening we had another meeting - with Paul, great guy, who is very helpful in running business. Our cooperation is so fruitful and we want to strengthen our relations. We also ate together, but this time I told him to choose western food. Magda felt a big relief... What a girl!! Late in the evening my boss asked me to buy some Chinese vodka. So I went to the city and tried to find something. It wasn't difficult, I found a white wine for only 6 yuans!! I couldn't believe it! Anyway, it was really bad, hehe. FRIDAY, May 18th Together with Paul we went to Yueqing (乐清). He helps me to do business with helmets and there's a factory there. That's why he wanted to go there, too. Wow, it was such a nice trip. I saw Rose and her husband again. Yes, we talked about business, but it was more like friendly chat than serious conversation. Later they took us to Yandang Mountain (雁荡山), mysterious place where every mountain resembles different shape. We took a lot of pictures. I also had another meeting, this time alone, with Angus - who wants to do business, also with helmets. Haha, competition is strong in Yueqing. Who will get the order? Let the better win! SATURDAY, May 19th We had to wake up at 5 am, because he had a plane to Beijing so early. I have never been there, but luckily I have good friends there. Leon, who drove us from the airport to the hotel, Nora and Sam who were our guides. On Saturday Beijing was very hot and dry. We went to Tian'anmen Square (天安门广场), and the to Forbidden City (故宫). Everything looked so big! One thing we noticed about Beijing was that many places were under construction. They are getting prepared for the Olympic Games next year! Aaah.. I must mention delicious roasted duck. Beijing duck! One of the most delicious things ever! SUNDAY, May 20th I planned to spend Sunday in Great Wall (长城). Together with Nora we went to Badaling (八达岭), where is the part of the wall especially for tourists. Well, we had a bad luck because it started to rain when we climbed the wall. So bad. But even despite that, it was amazing! Wonderful construction and so many people willing to see it. As it got cold, we went to Summer Palace, beautiful garden... It resembled me West Lake in Hangzhou... Tired of walking, we slept earlier. MONDAY, May 21st Again we had to wake up early, again for the plane, but this time to Qingdao (青岛), nice city at the Yellow Sea-side. Business meetings again, for tyres and tubes, visiting factories, eating Chinese food - very tasty (no sea food, though!). And then we went shopping. I started to feel tired of constant travelling, but I couldn't do anything. The weather was not very good, foggy and starting to rain. No sunbathing!! TUESDAY, May 22nd Finally we could sleep longer! We were even late for breakfast in a hotel. I felt a little bit dizzy because I dank too much whisky the night before. Maybe that's why the last meeting was not very successful? Perhaps... It was short and with no will for compromise. In the afternoon we went to visit the old town in Qingdao. Nice, but the weather was still bad. Again some shopping.... my boss's daughter is crazy about it!! WEDNESDAY, May 23rd Oh, such a rainy day! Good thing that Dean (man we deal with) agreed to drive us to the airport. It was the last part of that big travel - plane to Shanghai. We stayed there for one day and one night. Shanghai is so crazy! People everywhere asking to buy some fake goods (watches, clothes, souvenirs). It was a paradise for my boss and his daughter. We spent so much!! I practiced my Chinese, as I had to bargain for better price. Pure pleasure! And Chinese people were so surprised that I can speak their language! Of course it is very basic language but at least I can survive by my own! The weather in Shanghai was better than in Qingdao, anyway, it was humid and hot. And the next day... THURSDAY, May 24th ... raining! Raining so much that we decided to resign from Maglev train (the fastest train in the world) and take a taxi to Pu Dong Airport. I said goodbye to them and they went back to Poland. I felt very sad on that day. Very homesick. I missed my home so much yesterday. I felt like a small boy in a big strange country not knowing where to go. Now it's better... it was only because I was very tired. It was a good trip. Everything went fine. I'm proud of myself although it is not very modest. May 24 what I've doneAfter 10 days of travelling with my boss... I'm back!
Wow, I've learned so much. I've proved that I can survive in China by myself, speaking a little Chinese - it's a pure pleasure to notice that people understand what I want to say! Even if it's very simple, like "thirty? I don't have so much money!!" I climbed to the Great Wall! But I'll try to write about it more later... I'm terribly tired. *****

May 14 Thailand, Singapore and Hong KongMy holiday is over. It was amazing!
Thailand... big waves and strong sunshine.
Singapore... hot and fashion.
Hong Kong... like my city, I'm delighted!
So many foreigners in Thailand! So many animals in Singapore Zoo - first of all the monkeys! And giraffes - the most beautiful animals in the world. Giraffes are so gentle and lovely, they are like wonders.
Big Buddha in Hong Kong - it's giant! Ricky and Hei Yin, my good friends - it was magic to meet them.
Totally I had 9 days of holidays: 4 in Thailand, 3 in Singapore (my friend Edmund lives there! It's good to have friends all over the world) and 2 in Hong Kong...
I came back to Hanghzou only for 4 days, now I'm in Shanghai... I'm waiting for my boss who's supposed to come to China tomorrow morning. This is a busy month for me, lots of travelling.
On weekend I'm going to Beijing! brianstorm"Brian,
Top marks for not tryin' So kind of you to bless us with your effortlessness We're grateful and so strangely comforted And I wonder are you puttin' us under Cause we can't take our eyes off the t-shirt and ties combination Well see you later, innovator Some want to kiss some want to kick you There's not a net you couldn't slip through Or at least that's the impression I get cause you're smooth and you're wet And she's not aware yet but she's yours" [Arctic Monkeys, Brianstorm, Favourite Worst Nightmare]

May 04 ThailandWelcome from Thailand! It's so wonderful!
I love Andaman Sea, I could walk down the beach for hours!
The hotel I'm staying in is pleasant and quite luxurious... Ummm.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that everybody treats me as a source of money. I know it's the way people earn money here, but... come on! I guess they exaggerate.
Anyway. Tomorrow I'm going to Singapore. I'm having a great time! And you? |
